Date set for UK nurse inquest

The UK Inquest into 2Day’s tragic nurse prank call will take place at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on September 11 and 12.

A coroner will decide what part the prank call played in Jacintha Saldanha’s death.

The nurse left three handwritten notes in her living quarters close to King Edward VII’s Hospital in London, where she died in December 2012.  One of the notes said:

“Please accept my apologies. I am truly sorry. Thank you for all your support.

“I hold the Radio Australians Mel Greig and Michael Christian responsible for this act. Please make them pay my mortgage.

“I am sorry.  Jacintha.”

The inquest has been delayed several times (see our earlier reports).

SCA lawyers are expected to appear at the inquest and Mel Grieg, who no longer works for SCA, has expressed her wish to also appear at the inquest.
