Darwin’s Hot 100 reigns supreme despite ratings fall

Hot 100 has taken out the first Darwin radio ratings survey for 2017, despite giving ground to stablemate Mix 104.9.

Hot 100 recorded an overall market share of 34.4% for the survey period, a near 12 percentage point lead over Mix, and more than double ABC Radio Darwin’s figure of 14.0%.

ABC Darwin lost 3.6 percentage points to 14.0% but remains in third place overall.

triple j held ground and remains in fourth place on 9.7%.

Hot 100 maintained its ascendency among the younger 10-39 demographic but fell second to Mix 104.9 in the 40-65+ age sectors.

Both Hot 100 and Mix 104.9 are owned by the Grant Broadcasters Network.

Darwin radio research was conducted by Xtra Insights from 21 August to 9 September 2017.  The last survey was held in May 2016.

HOT 100 maintained healthy leads across most sessions but ABC Darwin narrowly took the evening timeslot despite a big fall from the previous survey, with HOT 100 second and Mix 104.9 third
