Daily Telegraph launches Miranda Devine internet radio show

Malcolm Turnbull the first guest.

Miranda Live — the first live internet radio show broadcast on dailytelegraph.com.au – launches today at 5.30pm.

The hour-long broadcast will stream live via the Daily Telegraph website and mobile site on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays, hosted by columnist and broadcaster Miranda Devine.

The  program will broadcast live from the Daily Telegraph Studio One in the Surry Hills headquarters, and will feature Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull as the first studio guest.

Devine will host guests and interview journalists from the Daily Telegraph newsroom as they prepare to publish breaking stories.

“The show will allow us to showcase the bustle and energy of our busy newsroom and it’s such an exciting way of adding an extra dimension, literally, to what we already do so well,” Devine told The Daily Telegraph.

We are incredibly excited to launch the new radio venture on our website, and delighted Miranda is hosting,” editor Christopher Dore said.

“Miranda doesn’t shy away from expressing her opinion, and that makes for terrific radio. She also has impeccable contacts, and will be able to draw on the news-breaking journalists from The Tele’s newsroom as it all happens. It’s pretty exciting.”

Listeners can communicate with Miranda via the social media hashtag #MirandaLive.

Devine added: “This gives us live feedback during the show through our Daily Telegraph website, Facebook, Twitter and the blog.”

The show will also be available as a podcast on your preferred podcast platform including iTunes and Android.

The Daily Telegraph will stream Miranda Live in partnership the Whooshkaa Audio Technology Streaming Platform.

Whooshkaa’s Robert Loewenthal said: “The Daily Telegraph were our first major media partner in Australia, so it’s great to team up with them again.”
