Crocmedia dumps Jo Hall after drink driving charge

Host of 3AW’s popular Great Australian Lives program Jo Hall has been dumped by the show’s producer Crocmedia.

The one hour program which is also widely available as a podcast is heard each Sunday at 8pm. It has featured a wide variety of prominent Australians including Ita Buttrose, Sir Gustav Nossal, Guy Sebastian, Tina Arena, Andrew Bolt, Julian Burnside, Shane Warne and Ben Roberts-Smith.

Hall failed a breath test last month as she was on her way from her home in East Hawthorn to her late father’s house in Box Hill still, she says, grieving from his recent death.

“I made an extremely poor error of judgment,” Hall told the Herald Sun. “In all my years as a daughter, a mother, a broadcaster, a friend, a colleague, I’ve never done anything I’ve been truly ashamed of and regretted more.”

In a statement issued Friday, Crocmedia’s chief operating officer Jodie Simm said: “Jo’s actions were not aligned with our business values and we’ve chosen to part company. We thank Jo for her contribution and wish her well. A new host will be announced shortly.”
