Community Radio station goes to the dogs

Whitehorse Boroondara Community Radio has ‘gone to the dogs’.

A new pet program, Pet Talk Radio, has been confirmed for 3WBC’s program schedule, starting in September.

The program, hosted by experienced television producers Kaye Browne and Brian Pickering (Police Camera Action, House From Hell), will cover topics like quirky pets, pet care and pet behaviour with resident animal behaviourist Dr Joanne Righetti.

3WBC‘s Daniel Anderson is “excited by the prospect of the new show” hosted by experienced professionals.

“Brian and Kaye have produced some quality TV over the years and Pet Talk Radio is of the same high standard – and fun too.

“The Whitehorse Boroondara area has such a high pet ownership rate and 3WBC felt a show like Pet Talk Radio was just what the area needed,” Anderson told radioinfo.

Pet Talk Radio, originally broadcast on Sydney radio station 2HHH, and beamed around Australia via the Community Radio Satellite (ComRadSat), will be sent via internet link to 3WBC for broadcast on Monday mornings at 9am.

Listeners are encouraged to participate in the show. “There’s plenty of chances for interaction. There’s a regular Ask Dr Joanne segment where people can email their pet problems,” says Anderson.

The station hopes to attract sponsorship for the show from pet related businesses to help in delivery of more quality programming to the Whitehorse Boroondara area.

3WBC broadcasts on 94.1FM to the communities of Whitehorse Boroondara in Victoria.

Pet Talk Radio can be heard at 9am Monday mornings from September 1st.
