Community licence applications invited for regional Victoria and Queensland

The ABA has invited applications for new community radio broadcasting licences in regional Victoria and regional Queensland.

One new community licence is available In the Horsham area of Victoria.

Following completion of the Horsham radio licence area plan in December 2001, the ABA has begun allocating the community radio licence for Horsham. The planning process identified a demand for a new community service operated by people living in the Horsham area of Victoria.

Applicants should contact the ABA’s Licensing Section on 1800 226 667 or (02) 9334 7700 for copies of the Horsham application information booklet and lodge applications by Tuesday 15 April 2003.

One new community licence is also available for the Blackwater area of Queensland after completion of the Emerald radio licence area plan.

The ABA welcomes written submissions from members of the public in relation to the applications received. Submissions should be lodged with the ABA by 5.00 pm on Monday 12 May 2003. Submissions can also be lodged via email to [email protected].
