Commercial radio in the USA is 100 years old

US radio is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first commercial radio broadcast. 

On November 2nd 1920, KDKA Pittsburgh went to air on Election Day giving the station the chance to demonstrate the power of broadcast radio, as listeners could hear the results of the Harding-Cox presidential race before they read them in the newspaper.
