CEOs sleep out for charity

CEOs and senior managers, including SCA’s Jeremy Simpson, are sleeping out to raise money and support the homless in this year’s St Vinnie’s sleepout.

CEOSleepout’s twitter account confirmed that tonight will be a cold one for the CEOs sleeping under cardboard boxes.

Despite Australia being a ‘lucky country’ more than 2.2 million Australians are living in poverty, a situation the sleepout seeks to address. The underlying problem, according to Vinnies, is the cost of housing. Vinnies has spent $17m in housing to prevent people from becoming homeless.

It’s been a big week for Simpson, who got the fright of his life from a staff prank earlier in the week. To donate to your favourite radio CEO, click here.

In Melbourne, SCA CEO Rhys Holleran slept rough for the cause, and 3AW sent reporter Cushla Travers to experience life on the streets with the Vinnies food van.
