CBAA seeking youth

The CBAA is looking for keen young broadcasters to be involved with a number of youth projects being organized in the community radio sector.

The CBAA’s Jan McArthur told radioinfo: “Last years conference had a big youth focus – and we’re
trying to keep that energy alive through the National Youth Media Network (NYMN) – one tool for interaction of course is the NYMN website www.cbaa.org.au/nymn.

It’s still under development and needs a fair bit of functionality added – like options for young radio makers to load short radio pieces for distribution to all stations. So we’re looking for a volunteer web
content manager based in Sydney. The
job probably involves about 3 hours work a week, but unfortunately we don’t
have funds to pay anyone at this stage. There is also the opportunity of sponsorship on the site.”

There are several other youth projects also on the boil at the CBAA as it steps up its focus on younger broadcasters who will carry the community broadcast sector to its next phase of development in years to come.
