CBAA National Features and Documentary Series call for applications

The CBAA is calling for applications from Australian community radio producers in the seventh annual instalment of the National Features and Documentary Series (NFDS).

Since 2013, the project has developed, showcased and distributed original work by emerging Australian community radio producers.

2019 winner, 2EAR FM’s Alice Ansara, says,”I sincerely appreciated the opportunity I was given, and I loved every challenging, excruciating moment of learning.”

Telling a story of their community, participants are trained and mentored to take their audio storytelling skills – planning, recording, scripting and creative production – to a new level.

Applications are welcomed from producers and staff based at community radio stations around Australia.

With training and mentoring provided by the Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO), eight finalists will turn their idea into a new 12-minute feature for a national audience during the course of the year.

Each of the final works goes in the running to win a CBAA Community Radio Award, announced at the CBAA Conference in October.

Applications close Monday 30 March 2020.
