CBAA Conference begins on Gold Coast

The Community Broadcasting Association’s annual conference begins today on the Gold Coast. Highlights include keynote speaker Margaret Simons, sessions on Social Media, the latest about audio over IP from Darryn Smith of AVC Group, Citizen Journalist and Writer Gari Sullivan, and a Sunday breakfast think tank hosted by Steve Ahern.

 

A new initiative at this year’s conference include the CBAA Media Lab – a hands-on media space where delegates can find out more about online tools and resources.

 

Other conference workshops include: Governance and Management, Enriching the audience experience through social media; ACMA Licence renewal and planning; Sponsorship; Community Media Arts: Facilitating engagement and social participation; Content, Community, and Creative Storytelling; Interviewing on the run 101 and Broadcast Automation Software;

The conference runs from Friday 18 – Sunday 20 November at the Gold Coast’s Holiday Inn hotel. radioinfo will cover conference highlights over the next few days.

 

The community broadcasting sector’s Annual general Meeting will be held on Saturday afternoon, with a range of board positions will be up for election at the AGM.  On the Saturday night, the sector’s annual Voxies awards will take place. For a list of finalists, click here.
