2UE’s Mike Carlton has dropped the popular entertainment reporter Peter Ford as a result of the Zemanek scandal.

During the height of the scandal Ford commended Carlton for not being a hypocrite for not attending the funeral or pretending to be a friend of Zemaneck.

Next day was a different story with Ford on the John Stanley program changing tack as he felt that listeners would have thought he endorsed Carlton’s comments.

Ford says he wishes he had stood up for his friend and mentor at the time and that he would rather lose a gig than not defend a mate’s honour.
