It’s a big call but Nova 106.9 promises to revolutionise the radio medium.
AirShr is a simple but powerful technology platform that “puts listeners in the driver’s seat; allowing them to save, share and engage in real time with anything they hear on their favourite station or show.”
Nova 106.9, Brisbane is the first major metro radio station in Australia to trial the technology and will launch the service to listeners today, Monday March 14.
Developed by an Australian independent software company, AirShr allows listeners to have more control over radio content while enabling radio broadcasters a platform to interact with listeners in real time.
The concept is simple: listeners download the free app, and simply by hitting a button on their smartphones, are able to interact with Nova content.
Listeners can clip, save and share entire interviews, news, engage in conversations and competitions, record commercials or special offers, download songs directly from iTunes, or be directed to digital platforms to extend their radio experience via exclusive content.
In this first phase of the trial, Nova 106.9 will be focused on encouraging listeners to download the free app and providing an on-air incentive for listeners to hit the AirShr button.
To that end Nova 106.9 will launch “their easiest competition yet” to entice listeners to download the AirShr app for the chance to win $5,000 cash, a $5,000 shopping spree and dinner every week for a whole year.
The next phase of the integration will be working with commercial partners to offer exclusive consumer offers, incentives and branded content.
