Bob Hope on Theatre Of The Mind

2 NSB’s “Theatre Of The Mind” program will celebrate comedian Bob Hope’s 100th birthday with a special program on his actual birth date, Thursday 29 May from 1 to 2pm.

The content of the program is drawn from the archives of ScreenSound Australia and private collectors, and is produced and presented by radio historian Bruce Leonard.

On 29 May, “Theatre of the Mind” will broadcast an episode of the Bob Hope Show which was first was heard on Australian radio in 1954 and features a segment with Frank Sinatra.

The program will also play the classic episode of ‘Ampol Number Please’, with compere Jack Davey and Bob Hope as the special guest.

“Theatre Of The Mind” is now in its fifth year of continuous production, and as well as the 1 to 2pm Thursday slot on 2NSB-FM 99.3, is picked up by more than thirty other community stations around Australia via the satellite service of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia.
