Biggest DJ Set in the world

It is not really radio, but a virtual stunt by Club DJ David Guetta caught radioinfo’s attention because of its use of augmented reality.

The same trick could work very well in radio promotions.

Unable to perform to a crowd in Amsterdam after being proclaimed the world’s best DJ, Guetta teamed up with Snapchat and DJ Mag to bring his biggest ever DJ set to fans around the world in the sky above their cities, through augmented reality.

The award show, which normally takes place during the Amsterdam Dance Event, was moved to a digital only performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Snapchatters who point their phones at the sky above their houses can see the French DJ bigger than ever, performing a unique set right above them by using the Snap Camera.

Almost 1.3 million people voted for the best DJ in the world, so his stunt was well placed to get lots of viewers, making it the biggest DJ Set ever.

How it works

  • Open Snapchat and check if the lens is in your carousel.
  • If not, search DJ Mag in Lens Explorer, or scan the Snapcode below
  • Select the Lens and point the Snap Camera towards the sky
  • Enjoy seeing a GIANT David Guetta performing a short set of his song Let’s Love | featuring Sia
If you have Snapchat, try it for yourself, it is impressive.
