In an industry which is often accused of lacking sentiment it’s good to know that sometimes nice guys come first. One did on Saturday night in the person of David McDonald who won the ACRA for “Most Popular Station Manager” in recognition of his gentle leadership of 1116 4BC and 882 4BH.

McDonald assured us that no staff were bribed and that the nomination was a complete surprise for him, telling radioinfo, ”Its nice to know you can do a good job without being a mongrel”.

When asked what are the main attributes to being a good manager he said, “Great people skills is the number one pre-requisite. Which means you must be able to listen, be flexible, tolerant, understanding and give a bit of stick occasionally”.

4BC Afternoon Producer Faith Bradley scooped a double whammy on Saturday night winning “Best Newcomer Off Air’ and her partner Brendan proposing to her on the same weekend. We’re pleased to report she said, “Yes”.
