Big gains for Triple M in Bundaberg survey

Bundaberg’s Triple M 93.1 Bundy has made good ground right across the board in the latest regional survey result.

Gains of  4.1 in breakfast, 7.3 in mornings, 6.0 in afternoons, 3.0 in drive and 9.2 in evenings saw that station move to within 1.2 of the overall leader Hitz 93.9 FM.

4BU eased a little, down 1.7 overall, but still in front of the ABC Wide Bay.

The combination of Grant Broadcasters 4BU and Hitz 93.9 still gives them a formidable score of 40% of stations most listened to in the market, despite a combined drop of 5.2.

The commercial radio stations serving the community broadcast to a potential population of more than 79,000 people aged 10+.

The survey was conducted by Xtra Insights from 27 August to 15 September with a sample size of 600 participants.

Bundaberg is the 75th regional survey to be released since the industry body Commercial Radio Australia introduced a new system for regional radio ratings which allowed smaller radio markets to undertake more regular, reliable and cost-effective audience measurement.

The next regional radio survey to be released will be in Gosford on the New South Wales central coast.
