Block contestants Andy & Ben will host the weekend breakfast slot.

K rock 95.5’s new weekend breakfast show for Geelong & the Surf Coast will feature duo Andy Sunderland and Ben Toyne, who came to fame appearing as “Best Mate” contestants on the 2016 season of Channel 9’s The Block.

The pair will host breakfast 8am till 10am Saturday and Sunday, from November 18. 

The former primary school teachers and best friends provided some comic relief throughout their season on The Block, often referring to themselves as “a couple of school teachers who don’t know what they’re doing.” They were, however, savvy enough to build the only apartment with four bedrooms and an extra bathroom.

The pair said they wanted to pocket the equivalent of a first year teacher’s salary on the auction of their apartment — $60,000 each. Though they didn’t win, the apartment sold for $2.25 million, netting the pair over a quarter of a million each.
