A year ago Ben & Liam from triple j opened up on RUOK Day about some of the hurtful experiences they have encountered as hosts of the youth networks breakfast show.
 
One year on and the pair are able to look back on how important it was to have that deeper conversation, something both of them had struggled to do.

Ben reflected on what it’s been like since last year: “One of the things that so amazing to see, knowing Liam quite well, and knowing where he was at that moment, is where he is now — just seeing the difference it can make, to just take the time to talk about it.”

As for Liam, he says it really was a life changing moment: “I honestly don’t believe there are any disadvantages to talking about your feelings with a mate and the pros are limitless. Sharing your struggle eases the strain.”

Ben’s advice is not to overthink it “It’s just reaching out to a mate and being there for them if they need you.”
