Ben Latimer replaces Sarah McGilvray as Nova PD

Ben Latimer has been appointed program director of Nova 96.9, as Sarah McGilvray takes maternity leave.

When she returns McGilvray has decided to accept an on-air position on Fitzy and Wippa’s breakfast show.

With over 15 years’ experience, Latimer has senior content management experience across multiple broadcast platforms. We have covered his career here on radioinfo during that time.

Latimer joined NOVA Entertainment in July 2017 as smoothfm’s PD on a 12 month maternity contract.

Head of Programming for the Nova 96.9 & smoothfm network, Peter Clay, said: “Ben has extensive programming experience and has done an outstanding job overseeing the smoothfm network. Following Sarah McGilvray’s decision to accept an on-air position with Fitzy & Wippa on her return from maternity leave and resign from her role as Program Director, Ben was the right person for the position.”

Before joining NOVA Entertainment, Ben was Head of On Demand at Foxtel and previously Group Program Manager for Max and smoothfm TV. Before that he worked for ARN.

Sarah McGilvray will begin her maternity leave in November and will return to the Fitzy & Wippa show in 2018.

Peter Clay will oversee the smoothfm network until a replacement is announced.
