Smoky and Dot Dawson have won ‘The Golden Mike Award’ for Australian Country Music Program of the Year in Tamworth. The award in its 6th year looks to acknowledge the work of individuals who give their time to radio.

Last Year they were inducted into the Australian Country Music Foundation Broadcasters hall of Fame. Smoky who is 85 and Dot Dawson 92 have been presenting the Australian Country Music Showcase on radio 2NSB FM 91.5, in Sydney for the past 14 years at 6pm on a Friday night. Since December 1997 the one hour program has been syndicated on the Community Radio Satellite where over a hundred stations have the opportunity of broadcasting the program.
