Asia Top 40 comes to Australia

EON Media Group of Singapore announced today that its English-language three-hour syndicated weekly chart show Asia Pop 40 is to launch nationally across Australia via streaming on iHeartRadio Australia from this week.

Asia Pop 40 is Asia’s first locally-produced regionally-syndicated weekly radio music chart show and is currently heard each week in over 20 Asian markets.

Singapore’s EON Media Group CEO & Executive Producer Rob Graham said, “We are thrilled that Asia Pop 40 will soon be heard across Australia on the iHeartRadio platform. We’re very excited to be bringing the show to a new audience in Australia and to iHeartRadio.”

iHeartRadio Australia’s Content Director Brett Nossiter commented, “We are excited to launch Asia Pop 40 on iHeartRadio Australia, we think it’s an important addition to the platform and the locally-produced content will be embraced by our Asian-Australian audience. The Asian youth market in Australia is growing at a significant rate and we plan to launch other language versions of Asia Pop 40 on the iHeartRadio Australia platform as they become available.”

Asia Pop 40 will be hosted on its own dedicated channel on the iHeartRadio Australia platform streaming 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and is operated by Australian Radio Network.

Asia Pop 40 is hosted by Asian media celebrity Dom Lau. The programme is Asia’s first locally-produced chart countdown radio programme and also the first syndicated Asian-produced radio show. It currently airs in over 20 markets across Southeast Asia and was launched in July 2013.

Asia Pop 40 is just one of a number of new stations announced today by iHeartRadio.
