ARN announces 2014 line ups for WSFM and KIIS

Following the announcement of Kyle and Jackie O joining Australian Radio Network’s newest radio station KIIS 1065, ARN have announced further line ups for WSFM and the new KIIS station (formerly Mix 106.5) in 2014.

Listeners to KIIS 1065 will wake up with Sydney’s favourite breakfast show, Kyle & Jackie O, the city’s #1 for 51 consecutive surveys.

ARN’s National Content Director Duncan Campbell said: “Kyle and Jackie will kick off the day with an energetic and entertaining start. They’re all about engaging with the people of Sydney with what’s current, including the aspirational star power of their local and international guests.”

KIIS 1065’s line up features:

  • Breakfast – Kyle and Jackie O
  • Day (9-3pm) – Simon Baggs
  • 3PM Pick Up – Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall, syndicated to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide
  • Drive – Rosso, syndicated to Sydney and Melbourne

Sami and Yumi worked really hard this year to build their audience and we thank them for being part of Mix and wish them the very best. We are now currently exploring the development of new shows for launch next year involving Yumi”.

Former Mix1065 Breakfast anchor Simon Baggs will continue on the new KIIS FM steering the day shift. Simon has worked in the radio industry for 12 years across six different stations.

Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall are back in the New Year with their networked 3PM Pick Up. This partnership reaches almost 800,000 listeners across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide and focuses on delivering laughs, current music, and entertaining content for the busy pick up hour.

Chrissie Swan said: “Our show focuses on women. It’s pure fun, good girl banter and songs you can sing along to.”

Also, Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross returns for Drive on KIIS, Duncan Campbell said: “Rosso’s versatile comedic edge makes him uniquely suited for the drive home. He will continue to build on the audience he developed this year and we couldn’t be happier that he will be part of KIIS.”

And in a move to delight Kyle and Jackie O fans from around Australia, the duo will return with The Kyle and Jackie O hour, broadcasting to all ARN markets.

In the evening, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest will deliver all the latest Hollywood news.

The 2014 101.7 WSFM lineup features:

The ARN will announce further line up changes for WSFM in 2014, but have indicated that an all new Richard Mercer program will be syndicated to Sydney and Melbourne

Breakfast on WSFM will begin with the long-standing Jonesy and Amanda, going into their ninth year on air together.

Amanda Keller said: “We understand our society’s fascination with controversy and celebrity, and we frequently have celebrities on the show, but it’s also the lives of regular, everyday people that are exciting, funny, heart wrenching or just plain ridiculous.”

All-new for 2014 will be Jonesy and Amanda’s syndicated 6pm show ‘Jonesy & Amanda’s Encore’ which will be broadcast to Sydney and Melbourne.

Ron E Sparks remains in mornings, howevera afternoons see Jason Staveley at the helm and after ten year at Mix 106.5, Lars Peterson makes the move across to WSFM to host drive.

Duncan Campbell said: “These day-time changes do mean that Bill Weaver and Rob Duckworth will be leaving the station. They’re both great people and excellent presenters and we’re grateful for their support over the last couple of years.”

Overall, we’re creating a more contemporary feel to WSFM. Our listeners love a bit of nostalgia but they also know that they are living the best parts of their lives right now. With Jonesy & Amanda as one of the country’s finest on-air teams starring in breakfast, we’re now also moving forward with our listeners and are excited to refresh the new year with them.

Of the changes on-air for Sydney, Duncan Campbell summarises; “2014 is going to be a huge year for ARN. Like Kyle & Jackie O, Sydney-siders will be switching to the all-new KIIS 1065. And we feel that the loyal listeners of WSFM will love the refresh of their favourite station, and will no doubt bring across many new fans too. We’re passionate about entertaining Sydney and we look forward to connecting in the new year”.
