Apple unveils streaming service Apple Music

Apple has finally launched their subscription streamlining music service ending months of speculation.

Called “Apple Music,” the service is both an update to the company’s iTunes Store as well as Apple’s response to Spotify’s industry-leading streaming service.

Apple CEO Tim Cook says, “History has had a very rich history of change, some of which we have a part in,”

Apple’s $10 (US) a month service is built off the music subscription service that it acquired a year ago from Beats for $3 billion.

After an initial three month free trial, Apple will also offer a plan for families of up to six people to share a subscription for $15 (US) a month.

Apple Music radio stations will also be available outside the paywall, but only subscribers get unlimited song skipping.
