Alexa, who sings I’m just a poor boy from a poor family?

Amazon Alexa has just launched new skills for those who forget the names of songs.

Song ID, released this week, is a virtual radio announcer, which can announce the name of each song before it plays when you are streaming music.

The new skill promises to help listeners discover new music, as well as name particular songs. The service can be turned on and off by requesting “Alexa, turn on/off Song ID.” Once activated, it will announce every song.

It is believed Alexa has developed the skill because listeners often ask for song names.

Song Finder brings users the power to search any song by telling Alexa a few words present from the song.

This new skill promises to tell users the name of the song, then play it.

It may help you when you’ve got some of the lyrics of the song going round in your head, but can’t remember the song name or artist.

But the promise may be more than the actual experience, with some users commenting it is ‘useless’ and ‘doesn’t work.

Test it for yourself and let us know what you think. Download from Amazon Music here.

Once you’ve found your favourite song and Alexa has told you where the singer is performing, you can now by tickets to the show via voice. Alexa has announced a partnership with Ticketmaster so that users can buy tickets through the smart speaker’s AI voice interaction.
