Aircheck looks at the music crossover on the Gold Coast

Following the news that Grand Broadcasters purchased Gold Coast station Hot Tomato, Aircheck analysed the playlists of stations in the sunny state of Queensland during the last four weeks.

Unbelievably, Hot Tomato shared a 26.8% music crossover with both Sea Hit 90.9 and 92.5 Gold FM, playing a greater range of tracks in each breakdown.

The most played track between Hot Tomato and Sea was Sam Smith and Calvin Harris’ ‘Promises’ but between Gold 92.5 and Hot Tomato George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ was out in front.

In Brisbane, the biggest crossover was between Hit105 and Nova106.9, sitting at 38.8% or 654 songs, with Loud Luxury and Brando’s ‘Body’ the most heard track, earning 306 spins.

At the other end of the scale, Triple M Brisbane and 4KQ shared only 7.9% of their playlists, with Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’ the most played song on both stations.
