Audiocraft has initiated the launch of an agency representing some of Australia's "best" audio producers and freelancers for hire.

It claims a disconnect between organisations who want to produce quality audio content, and the highly skilled makers who can meet demand, prompted the initiative and aims to bridge the gap connecting clients with audio production talent.

The Agency represents producers whose collective experience spans executive producing, audio editing, writing, research, sound design, music composition and project management.

The current roster includes:

  • Sophie Harper: creator and producer of Not By Accident—an audio documentary series about choosing to become a single mother and coping with —and a highly experienced documentary producer.

  • Jennifer Macey: a journalist and producer with more than 15 years of experience. Her work has aired on the ABC, DW-Radio, BBC and Pacifica Radio, and her podcast work includes This Kid Life (Sydney Opera House) and Follow the Money (Australia Institute).

  • James Milsom: presenter and producer of world-renowned legal podcast series The Rule Book, which echoes his first career as a criminal lawyer. He is also a professional music composer and sound designer.

Audiocraft's Director and Founder Kate Montague says, "Audiocraft is excited to add the Agency to our list of initiatives that contribute to a more vibrant podcasting industry. In the last year we've seen big shifts for audio in Australia, with growing market opportunities for content creators, media platforms, and businesses. We're looking forward to being a part of this next chapter and we're thrilled to represent such a fantastic team of freelancers who share our genuine love of the craft.'"
