Ace stations roll out FMs

After many months of planning and a staggered roll-out of services, each centre in the Ace Network across Victoria now has an AM/FM combo.

3YB Warrnambool launched it’s affiliate 95.3 Coast FM at midday on August 1. The launch “was huge with a promotional plane flying around the city all day, and massive cash giveaways in the first 24 hours”. Old school pals Cathy Jubb and Matthew Monk are on breakfast, Brett Wadelton anchors the afternoon shift and Al Shield takes over after the Nitemix Hot 30.

3HA Hamilton launched it’s sister station 88.9 Mixx FM on the same day. At Mixx, Scott Menz is doing breakfast with Alex Abala on afternoons. Alex was halfway through his Swinburne radio course when he was offered the job.

The departure of Mike Harris from Horsham to 3GG has seen Cathy Jubb promoted to the Assistant Group Program Director’s position. Trent McCurdy and Alice Nancarrow are now the assistants to Group Music Director Ross Meldrum.

Emily Canning has returned to 3WM/Mixx FM Horsham as the program director, Brad Arnoldt is the program director of TRFM in Gippsland, while Andrew Deak is program director of it’s sister station 3GV.
