ABC supports Melbourne Festival

The 2002 Melbourne Festival is just around the corner and 774 ABC Melbourne will be right there to bring listeners the best via the airwaves.

Starting with Opening day – By Water on Thursday 17 October at 11.00am, 774 ABC Melbourne will be the only media covering this very special event live to air.

Tune in when Arts commentator, Sian Prior broadcasts live into Jon Faine’s Conversation Hour to bring you all the excitement of the celebrations. Crossing live from the Yarra River, Prior will follow the proceedings and describe the events boats on the river to Federation Square.

The celebrations will continue into Opening Night as she brings the party atmosphere to listeners, with crosses live into Jeremy Lee’s Evening program.

From 7.00pm, Prior will be amongst the action at Victorian Arts Centre Forecourt with crowds of people enjoying the funky sounds of Indian Ocean, viewing the splendour of The Famous Spiegeltent and exploring the amazing artwork of Bute Utes.

Every morning after 7.00am, Sian Prior will report into the Breakfast Program with Red Symons and give listeners the latest reviews of what the Festival has on that day.
