The 2014 New York Festivals World’s Best Radio Programs Awards have been presented with the ABC taking out one Gold, a Silver and three Bronze.
SBS managed one Silver while the only other Australian radio organisation that reached the finals, Nova 969, was awarded a finalist certificate for a documentary entitled, In Memory of Brett.
The ABC’s Gold award for a documentary in the Human Relations category entitled Will Kate Survive Kate? was actually produced by an unnamed freelancer for Radio National. All the other award winners were produced in-house.
The Kiwis also put in a good showing with a small New Zealand not-for-profit trust winning four awards including two Golds and two Silvers.
