ABC launches NewsRadio in Illawarra

ABC NewsRadio celebrates the launch of their Illawarra frequency today at the ABC Illawarra Studios.

Minister for Regional Communications and Member for Cunningham Sharon Bird will help launch the frequency with Glen Bartholomew, ABC NewsRadio’s Senior Presenter.

ABC NewsRadio is Australia’s only continuous news station, giving listeners access to breaking news, sport, finance, weather, and live coverage of Federal Parliament.

The new frequency covers the districts of Wollongong, Kiama, Shoalhaven, Shellharbour and Wingecarribee. An estimated extra 1.1 million people can now listen to the latest news headlines every 15 minutes.
