92.7MIX FM raises over $600,000 for Give Me 5 for Kids

Over $5 million raised in almost two decades.

The 92.7MIXFM team has this year raised $606,096 for its annual ‘Give Me 5 for Kids’ Appeal.

Throughout June, 92.7MIXFM’s Breakfast team Mark & Caroline, and the Drive crew Todd & Sami, coordinated over 30 individual fundraising events.

Over almost two decades, the “Give Me 5 for Kids Appeal” has raised over $5 million.

Mark Darin, 92.7MIXFM Breakfast Announcer said: “We set a massive goal this year and the Sunshine Coast got on board.

“We knew from the start of the month it was going to be big – but this is incredible! After we found out we had reached the $600k for June I’m not sure
when Caroline will stop crying”.

Caroline Hutchinson, 92.7MIX FM Breakfast Announcer said: “We get lots of thanks for Give Me 5 for Kids, but the truth is, it’s not our money – it belongs to the Sunshine Coast. We promise to use it wisely to keep families together, for family accommodation close to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital”.

Funds raised have gone towards:
• Cost of helicopter to transport sick infants to Brisbane hospitals
• $250,000 worth of state of the art interactive play equipment in waiting areas of the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital
• 2 x Hamilton T1 Ventilators for paediatric emergencies
• 17 years of Free TV Hire in the Children’s Ward (24 beds) at the Nambour Hospital
• The Delta Dog Service, yoga therapy, music therapy and clown doctors
• Plus additional lifesaving equipment and services
