85th Good Friday Appeal gets a big cheque from Nova Entertainment

NOVA Entertainment’s partnership with one of Melbourne’s most respected charity events, the 85th Good Friday Appeal, concluded a big but rewarding week for both the Nova 100 and the smoothfm 91.5’s teams.

Last weekend, the Nova 100 team partnered with the Run for the Kids with Jonathan Brown and Team Browny (a team of Nova listeners) running the 16km course while Nova 100 afternoon announcer Sarah Maree Cameron took on the 5km run. Run for the Kids was Nova 100’s largest activation including  Nova 100’s City Selfie Zone, which allowed runners to capture the moment they reach the top of the Bolte Bridge, and the create of the official Run for the Kids Playlist, where Nova 100 broadcast 100 minutes of commercial free hits and messages of motivation from athletes and celebrities from 7.30am.

On Good Friday Chrissie, Sam & Browny’s breakfast show held a special outside broadcast in the foyer of the Royal Children’s Hospital. Guests included Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, Channel Seven legendary commentator Bruce McAvaney, Good Friday Appeal Director Anne Randall, comedian Mel Buttle and some of patients who had gathered to watch the new breakfast team in action. After the broadcast Chrissie, Sam & Browny took a tour of the wards to meet some of the patients.

smoothfm 91.5 and Nova 100 were also part of the Kids Day Out,  at the Melbourne Convention Centre at South Wharf, which was transformed into a wonderland for children. For Nova, Chrissie, Sam & Browny’s Ice Cream Truck was operating while smoothfm created a family relaxation and entertainment precinct on-site which included comfortable couches, massages by Sage and a tea-cup ride. smoothfm 91.5 More Music Breakfast Show host Mike Perso and morning announcer Ty Frost were joined by Melissa Doyle.

At the end of the day NOVA Entertainment’s COO Louise Higgins and smoothfm 91.5 Mike Perso appeared on the Good Friday Appeal telecast to present the Good Friday Appeal with a cheque for $20,000.
