774 ABC Melbourne broadcasting from Tammie Fraser’s garden

The flowers of spring are blooming and Australia’s Open Garden Scheme is in full swing in Victoria.

This Saturday (22 Nov), as part of the Open Garden scheme’s major season, the 774 ABC Melbourne Saturday Morning program will be venturing out of the studio to broadcast live from Tamie and Malcolm Fraser’s impressive garden, Thurulgoona on the Mornington Peninsula.

From 8:30am, presenter Jan Jacklin, will be amongst the garden of hardy shrubs, roses and perennials, presenting all of the station’s usual Saturday morning segments.

During the morning Jacklin will also take a tour of ‘Thurulgoona’ with Tamie Fraser, meet some local identities, chat with Tamie and Malcolm Fraser’s long time gardener, Martin Edney and discover the many delights of the Mornington Peninsula.

Australia’s Open Garden Scheme is a non-profit organisation that began in Victoria in 1987. Their aim is to promote the knowledge and pleasure of gardens and gardening across Australia. They do this by opening Australia’s most inspiring private gardens to the public.
