702 ABC Sydney is supporting the Blue Mountains community this week with an on-air auction, live broadcast and cricket game.
 
Up for auction today will be 5 limited edition canvas prints of “The Cricketers”, a photograph taken by 702’s John Donegan that features the Warrimoo RFS crew playing a cricket game during a rest break in the fire fighting. One print will be auctioned in Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoons, Drive and Evenings.
 
The activity will culminate this Sunday in the Blue Mountains when Simon Marnie and the Weekends team conduct a live Outside Broadcast from the Community Recovery Picnic Day at Winmalee High School.
 
A highlight of the broadcast will be a community cricket match between members of the Springwood Cricket Club, Warrimoo and Valley Heights RFS volunteers. Guest players will include Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, Phil Davis and Steve Coniglio from the GWS Giants Football Club, Mitchell Allgood and Brenden Santi from the Parramatta Eels and 702 staff
 
Funds raised will go to the Blue Mountains City Council Mayoral Relief Fund.
