4CC the station Gladstone grew up with, is back

ZINC927AM Gladstone reverted back to its previous name 4CCAM this week, in order to reflect the station’s identity as local and independent from the ZINC network.

It will feature classic hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and the addition of a brand new talk back show with Rob Kidd weekday mornings between 8.30-10am and an afternoon show with the ‘true Aussie girl next door’ Clare Wootton from 3-6pm.

Some of the favourite shows remain like 70’s at Sunset, Alice Cooper at night, Jukebox Saturday Night and some special weekend lifestyle features- plus another brand new “20/20 Retro show” midday.

The change comes as a part of Grant Broadcaster’s acquisition of the entire Prime Radio QLD network in October 2013.

Station Manager Sally Waghorn said: “The station has always had a really great local following, but we knew we could introduce some changes that would improve the sound and feel of the brand to really capture the community focus were so passionate about. It’s about separating ourselves from our ZINC brand in this market, and going back to the local brand 4CC our Gladstone listeners know and love.”

The change officially kicked off on Monday, following a launch celebration and announcement last Friday night at the Yacht Club, which was attended by special guests including the previous general manager of the station Noel Roberts, ex-announcers Cooper & Kel, local clients and dignitaries.

Breakfast Announcer Rob Kidd said: “I’ve been back in Gladstone for over four years now after working here in 1997 when it was 4CC. I’m excited about bringing it back to our listeners and eager to interact with them about local issues and events. Having a truly local station is paramount for our changing lives and we will deliver a comprehensive, informative and colourful listening experience.”

Tune into 4CC on 927AM Gladstone, 1584AM Rockhampton, 666AM Biloela, & 98.3FM Agnes Water
