Brisbane’s 4BC has secured exclusive Queensland commercial radio rights for the 2003 State of Origin Series. 4BC will broadcast the only commentary with Queensland callers.

Headed by John McCoy, Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC will call all three games. Wally Lewis will join McCoy for Games 2 and 3, while Glen Lazarus will provide special comments for Game 1. Peter “Salty” Psaltis will deliver all the sideline action.

Meanwhile, 4BC’s Sports Today with Greg Cary will broadcast live from Suncorp Stadium with special editions from 4-7.30pm for Game One and 5-7.30pm for Game Three, setting the stage for one of the most hotly-contested Origin series yet. Sports Today with Greg Cary will return for a comprehensive analysis and discussion after each Game, with interviews and talkback until midnight.

Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC will also be the only Brisbane radio station giving away tickets to Game One (June 11) and Game Three (July 16), at the new Suncorp Stadium. Hundreds of free tickets will be given away to lucky listeners in the 10 days leading up to Games One and Three.

And 4BC listeners will also have the only opportunity to meet Queensland’s 2003 Origin Team at a special all-day 4BC outside broadcast at Harvey Norman in Everton Park on Thursday, July 10. The entire team will sign autographs and chat with fans from 6pm during Sports Today with Greg Cary.
