3AW studio to be named in honour of Keith McGowan

Following recognition of the late Keith McGowan in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List, 3AW will remember Keith by naming a studio after him.

Keith passed away last Christmas after a lifelong career in radio.

Even when he retired, he used his time to travel around the country to visit stations and write station profiles for radioinfo.

Presenter, producer and station historian Simon Owens has told radioinfo:

“Our management has decided to honour Keith McGowan by naming one of our studios the Keith McGowan OAM Studio.

“We have 3 studios that service 3AW.  Keith worked out of the smallest studio which was generally used for pre-records, but it is the studio best set up for someone like Keith as guests sit in the same studio as the panel operator.”

Keith McGowan presented his overnight talk show solo. He was a one man band, panelling, producing and presenting the whole show by himself.
