3AW off air for two hours on Sunday morning

Sunday 22 September, 2019
Nick McCallum, Heidi Murphy and Emily Power
Melbourne’s 3AW was off-air from around 11:30 this morning as the result of a power outage.
The power failure affected servers, computers and thus the broadcast signals which rendered the program off the air.

A message appeared on 3AW’s Twitter feed:

Our apologies for technical issues affecting our broadcast signal at the moment.
The experts are currently working hard to rectify ASAP!

“The Sunday Morning team is going nowhere!” said one tweet while the IT team was brought in to rectify the problem.

One listener joked online: “Who used the toaster & the microwave at the same time?”, while guest host Emily Power said: “I’m usually a klutz but I swear I didn’t accidentally hit the wrong button”.

The station returned to air at around 1:30pm.
