Aboriginal community station 3KND goes to air this weekend in Melbourne. It is one of two aboriginal stations granted in the last round of community licence allocations.

The other station, in Sydney, is not yet on air.

The Sydney station is on FM, while 3KND, which stands for Kool n Deadly, is on 1503 AM.

3KND a project of the South Eastern Indigenous Media Association (SEIMA) competed with 22 other aspirant radio stations for the full-time licence in the last round of ABA allocations.
