In other overnight programming developments, 2UE will be live between 5am and 5.30 am for the first time in years. Previously the station had run highlights of yesterday’s Alan Jones show.

John Kerr will continue his overnight program with a range of new segments which will include sport and finance from around the world, crosses to foreign correspondents, traffic and flight information. Breakfast presenter Steve Price will chat to Kerr before he begins his own program at 5.30.

2UE General Manager Ian Sheppard told AMT: “The program change is much needed in Sydney. In a city with almost five million people, where there are plenty of early risers, both news-talk stations have been running pre-recorded packages of yesterday’s news. It just didn’t make sense.”
