2UE announces family from children’s hospital to travel to Dubai this summer

2UE has announced the details of a Dubai Tourism holiday as part of it second annual Christmas Appeal for The Children’s Hospital  at Westmead.

Dubai Tourism is a major sponsor of 2UE and has generously donated a trip for a family from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to travel to Dubai in December of this year.

The prize was awarded to the Satorre Family from Sydney’s Rooty Hill. The family have three children, aged 15, 5 and 2. Last year, their 15 year old son Christopher was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August and underwent treatment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The trip includes return economy airfares from Sydney to Dubai, 6 nights’accommodation at the Burj Al Arab, the symbol of Dubai and ‘The Most Luxurious Hotel in the World’, a range of activities plus dinner and breakfast each day.

Announced on air this morning by Mornings presenter Stuart Bocking, Gerlyn Satorre said: “Christopher just completed chemo last week. We’re so happy and proud of him, he’s gone through hard times.”

Dubai Tourism Regional Sales Manager Jodie Collins said: “We’re so pleased to be involved to send this family for six nights to Dubai for a wonderful holiday staying at the Burj Al Arab. It’s an amazing destination and a perfect family holiday.”

2UE Content Director Clinton Maynard said: “Christopher has just finished his treatment so a family holiday will be such a wonderful gift at the end of this difficult journey. We are so thrilled to see this prize go to such a deserving family and we’d like to thank Dubai Tourism and the Burj Al Arab for their generous prize donation.”

The Christmas Appeal kicked off on November 19th with a live broadcast from the hospital with Breakfast team John Stanley and Garry Linnell at 5.00am and was followed by live broadcasts from the Mornings, Afternoons and Drive presenters.

This year’s Appeal is kindly sponsored by Primo Smallgoods and Slater & Gordon Lawyers.
