2ser opens new state of the art studio on Broadway

Nestled within the ample bosom of the UTS campus, that now stradles both sides of Sydney’s Broadway, community broadcaster 2ser has opened a new production studio.

Purpose-built for podcasting and discussion panels, it will service many of the station’s flagship shows and ensure that 2ser’s award-winning content remains at the forefront of audio production. 2ser, btw, has won scores of international radio awards at the New York Festivals. For full details of how you can enter and represent Australia go here.

Program Manager Anthony Dockrill says, “Our new studio was designed for the changing face of talk-based radio and podcasting. It facilitates cutting edge audio by promoting an innovative conversation-centric space, removing all the clutter and distractions of a normal radio studio.”

To bring the innovative layout to fruition the best equipment had to be chosen. The studio is completely digital, using a graphics interface rather than a physical mixing console to free up space for hosts and guests. Axia iQx’s digital engine ensures cutting edge digital audio and surface control, while five Audio-Technica BP40 broadcast microphones provide the high-quality sound needed.

“The AT-BP40 broadcast microphone is an industry favourite for radio and podcast. We’re stoked 2ser has chosen our mics to fit-out its new studio and we’re proud to support community radio,” said Audio-Technica Australia, in a statement.

Made possible by the University of Technology’s generous commitment to innovation in the community, 2ser says it is now ready to make even more award-winning radio and podcasts.

2ser’s new studio is also available for hire by external parties. Booking enquiries may be directed to Kat Alchin, by emailing [email protected], or by clicking here for more information.
