2ME returns to the Royal Easter Show

Radio 2ME is again partnering with the Royal Agricultural Society to broadcast live from the Sydney Royal Easter Show. It’s the third consecutive broadcast from the show and each year it gets bigger and better.

Sid Merhi, Managing Director of 2ME said: “2ME is the only foreign language broadcaster to broadcast live from the Easter Show. We’re expecting a lot of guests from all over Australia and we’re intending this year to bring in a lot of passers-by as our on-air guests to create a friendly party atmosphere, which our listeners will love.  We’ll also give them something back, with lots of prize giveaways and special surprises.

Our presence here each year is an important part of marketing the Easter Show to the migrant communities of Sydney – many of whom come from Arabic-speaking countries. Our unique outside broadcast is built to ensure complete announcer and guest comfort with 360 degree viewing, five individual microphones, separate announcer and producer/news mixers, and eight television screens for sponsor advertisements, and satellite feedsWe need to keep it comfortable because we will be broadcasting non-stop for the full duration of the show, from 6am to 8pm daily.”

According a recently conducted media consumption survey by McNair Ingenuity Research, 2ME is Sydney’s most popular Arabic media channel.

2ME’s Broadcast studio will be located in their usual spot on Grand Avenue just near the Crazy Coaster. This year, crowds of around 900,000 are expected as the show dates (April 10-23) coincide with the school holidays.
