2Day dumps Bouchet

As if Kyle and Jackie O didn’t have enough problems of their own without one of their crew tweeting bad taste gags about Colorado’s “Batman Massacre” within minutes of the tragic news being released.

Although the tweets were soon taken down, SCA’s Sydney general manager Jeremy Simpson promptly terminated Bruno Bouchet’s employment citing a breach of the company’s’ social media policy as the reason.

Bouchet was employed as the talent and guest producer on The Kyle and Jackie O Breakfast Show and has form in using his own website and social media for publishing “gross out” material.

He had only recently returned from “gardening leave” after a previous incident in March.

In a statement Mr Simpson said, “Southern Cross Austereo has a strict social media policy that all staff must adhere to, and Bruno’s activity on Twitter was in breach of this policy. It is for this reason that Bruno’s employment has been terminated, effective immediately.”

Bouchet’s Twitter and Facebook accounts were also disabled yesterday according to an article in The Daily Telegraph.
