2Day to become 2Gay

2Day Fm has been appointed as the official commercial radio broadcast partner  for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras .

In an exclusive two-year deal, the station will change its logo from 2DayFM to 2GayFM for part of the Mardi Gras festival. It will also broadcast dedicated Mardi Gras content throughout the events and specialised playlists on www.Songl.com.

2Day Fm will be offering listeners exclusive access to Mardi Gras festival events, including tickets to this year’s Flinders Seats at the 36th annual Parade and the highly sought after Mardi Gras Party.

2DayFM Content Director Donna Puechmarin said: “2DayFM is delighted to have exclusive access to one of the world’s most iconic events. 2DayFM has always been at the forefront of Sydney’s biggest events and the Mardi Gras festival is without doubt a highlight in the Sydney calendar.”

SGLMG CEO Michael Rolik said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming 2DayFM as the official commercial radio broadcast partner of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Together we will be able to deliver the Mardi Gras message of diversity and love across Australia.”

The exclusive partnership will kick off this Sunday February 9th, when 2DayFM breakfast host Sophie Monk will take part in Fair Day celebrations at Victoria Park.

As they did last year, JOY 94.9 in Melbourne have congratulated 2Day on the initiative – well sort of….
