2CH end of an era

Bob Rogers turned off the lights at 2CH’s Sussex Street studios for the last time on Monday 3 Feb after his morning shift (photo right).

The station cut over to its new premises in Pyrmont, joining Macquarie Network stablemate 2GB, which moved across the the new studios two weeks ago.

The Last Song played from the Susses Street Studios was, appropriately, “The Last Song. ”

Signing off for the last time from the old studios, Bob Rogers said: “It is the last song from this location. We’ve been here for some years now, but from tomorrow we’ll broadcast from our beautiful new premises at Pyrmont. Peter Burgham is there now with the brand new equipment, wrestling with new technology. Better him than me.
I’ll be there from tomorrow…”

The first song played from the new studios was “Good Morning Starshine.” (Below – new 2CH Studio)
