2019 CBAA Community Radio Award entries close next week

The CBAA Community Radio Awards will close at 5pm next Wednesday, 29 May 2019 with the winners announced in October.

Each year CBAA produce an Awards program offering an inspiring snapshot of the achievements of stations with programs, initiatives or practices that have increased their capability and improved the services offered to their communities.

CBAA CEO, Jon Bissett says “It’s been an exciting year for our sector, with the highest levels of national community radio listenership on record. This is a credit to the dedication and hard work of the hundreds of stations around the country and the 25,000+ volunteers who power them. These Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and recognise their achievements, and how community radio stations are making important contributions to media diversity and local content, supporting Australian music and providing opportunities for participation in free-to-air broadcasting.”

Member stations are encouraged to take this opportunity to profile the excellent work they been doing over the past 12 months in one of the 30 CBAA Community Radio Award categories.

Each category has its own criteria to follow and should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete the online entry form.

Winners will be announced at the CBAA Community Radio Awards Gala Dinner on 26 October, part of the CBAA Conference in Melbourne, Victoria.
