1116 SEN secures Masters broadcast rights in Australian radio first

In an Australian radio first, 1116 SEN has secured the rights to broadcast the Masters Tournament from Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia next month.

Afternoons presenter and Inside the Ropes host Andy Maher will lead the final two days’ coverage of the Masters as the Tournament on the 7th and 8th April.

Maher will be joined by Tristan Foenander and Golf Australia’s Mark Hayes.

This year’s Masters features a rejuvenated Tiger Woods and top ten-ranked players such as Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and defending Masters champion Sergio Garcia, alongside Aussies Jason Day and Marc Leishman.

The 1116 SEN live call will be heard locally in Australia on Sunday 8th April and Monday morning, 9th April.

Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager 1116 SEN Sam Bingley says the station has a strong vision to deliver world-class sporting events, live to local audiences.

“This is a watershed moment for us to broadcast one of the most famous golf tournaments in the world and confirms our commitment to bringing the best of live sport from Australia and overseas to Australian fans.”

In partnership with Golf Australia, the 1116 SEN Masters radio coverage can also be streamed live on golf.org.au.

Golf Australia Digital & Communications Director John Sutherland said the news was exciting for Australian fans.

“Live golf is a great radio product and we hope that 1116 SEN’s audience enjoy what promises to be one of the most exciting Masters in history,” Sutherland said.
