From 100 to 101.1: Meshel Laurie confirmed for KIIS

After suffering a bucketing from the Melbourne Herald Sun’s Page 13 for trying to spin changes to the Breakfast show on KIIS 101.1, ARN has finally confirmed that they have lured Meshel Laurie away from rival NOVA 100 to replace Jane Hall as on air partner to Matt Tilley in 2016.

Page 13 insists, “No matter what spin radio bosses try to put on it, Jane Hall has been dumped while the single mother is on holidays... Page 13 is sick and tired of the PR spin and can reveal what really happens behind the scenes, and it ain’t pretty.”

But KIIS is sticking to its guns that the decision to leave was all Jane Hall’s, quoting her as saying, “After much thought, I’ve decided to move on from my position as co-host of the KIIS Breakfast show. I made this decision for several reasons, not the least of which is my desire to be more present on the home front, especially with the teenage years fast approaching!

“I am, and always will be, enormously grateful to ARN and to radio pro Matt Tilley for the faith they’ve showed in me, for the amazing opportunity to learn about radio and for the support they have demonstrated during this process,” said Hall.

Other changes to breakfast shows currently mooted include Jane Hall’s former MIX co-host Chrissie Swan replacing Meshel Laurie at Nova 100.

There’s also some betting that Fifi Box’s on air partner Dave Thornton on FOX will be replaced by Jules Lund. But why break up a winning team?

Although GOLD’s Brig and Lehmo are out of contract, it is expected they’ll be re-signed for another term.

Of course, the juiciest rumour of the lot is that Rove McManus will replace Dan & Maz on Breakfast at 2Day FM.
